Happy Halloween!

Irony - There was a knock at the door starts off our two featured stories this month.  I hadn't noticed until I was actually going back through and making sure all the links worked.  That knock is likely the season upon us once again, and Fear Knocking.  We (I)  are coming to the end of three years in web-publication.  It's been great!  Already looking forward to the next three years.  That said, what do you think of the new look of our site?  I thought it was time to move into something a little less busy, while retaining the blacks and reds of the original.  Please email me your thoughts:  editor@fearknocks.com

Additionally, what stated out as a grandiose dream has turned into the brutal reality of publishing and acquiring good submissions.  It's tough to get submissions for two reasons - first, there just aren't that many people out there doing suspense and horror, and second, there just aren't that many people out there doing suspense and horror for free.  The future of Fear Knocks, at least a growing, productive, and prosperous future, depends on two things - the editor having more time, and the editor having more money (not just for himself, but to pay authors.).  With those thoughts, in this issue you will find the first authors to be paid for their work.  Yes, cold, hard cash out to Cody, Mike, and Ozzy.  It isn't much, but it's payment.  Now to figure out all the ins and outs of running a business, overhead and budgets, and taxes.  Feel free to e-mail me if you have any suggestions, or wish to contribute - editor@fearknocks.com

Also this month, Fear Knocks invites its readers to participate on the Editor's blog.  Check out:

I welcome almost anything, but most especially participation.

That's about it, other than have a very, very happy Halloween, and Felicitationes por El Dia de Los Muertos.  See you next time and remember...  Fear Knocks -  Let it in!
