Is there a print version of the site?  As in - would writers be "published" or simply have their work appear in the internet?
Kimberly C.

Fear Knocks responds:
Thanx for the query, Kimberly.  At this time we intend to publish a Best of Fear Knocks in print form (a limited edition chapbook of the best prose and poetry) in May of 2007.  At this time, we just don't have the funds (or time) to make that jump.  We hope to one day be a full on, glossy, monthly, but we also think we may win the lottery soon as well.

...I also belong to a writing group with which I would like to share information about your site - if that is okay with you.
Rusty

Fear Knocks responds:
Rusty, you have no idea how hard it is to get any kind of literature publication going.  Our biggest challenge is getting good submissions.  Please share with your writing group, share our site with your friends and family, and keep writing and submitting.  We look forward to working with everyone who thinks they may have something that someone else would enjoy reading.

...do you pay your writers for their work on acceptance?
Rich

Fear Knocks responds:
Rich, we were wondering when someone would ask that question.  As of today, Friday the 13th (October 13, 2006), we are not reimbursing our writers in any financial way - we just don't have the funds (remember, we means me, the Editor, Scott the grad student).  We are planning to give free print copies of the Best of Fear Knocks to all those who make it into the first issue this spring (dealer's recommended cost: $25 - retail value: $5 - cost of materials - $2 - being published in a limited edition, type-set by hand, original artwork cover, Best of Fear Knocks - priceless).  We've considered getting some nice black T-shirts printed up with our logo as parting gifts (either that or toasters).  More on payment and gifts to come.

...and emails
We would like to publish as many letters and emails as possible.  We reserve the right to edit as appropriate, or as it fits our needs (or as the voice inside our heads directs us to).  Initially, we will try to notify our submitters of our intent to publish their correspondence (Issue 1), after which we hope they will just understand that letters and emails are fair game.
A couple examples of the limited edition covers for the first print issue of Fear Knocks, The Best of Fear Knocks, Volume 1, due out in May 2007.
