LUW Fall Conference

Writing Conferences can be interesting, rewarding, or a huge waste of time and money. Having attended several, the League of Utah Writers (LUW) does a pretty good job of not wasting one’s time, and keeping the conference relatively affordable (especially in comparison to other writing conferences).  Now, for a little shameless self-promotion…

I will be presenting a couple of classes, workshops if you will, on:

#1 – believe it or not, writing conferences and retreats – there will be some great pictures from Transylvania, the Costa del Sol, and Provo… ha ha ha

#2 – Magical Realism – yes, an oxymoron and a paradox – if you are afraid of Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende, Salman Rushdie, and the like, don’t be; this will be a fun introduction with some practical practice and applicable application.

I think they asked me to be on a few panels as well, including poetry! Yes, Japanese Death Poems, Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s Ancient Mariner, and William Blake’s Tyger, will be prominently featured on my part, with some Edgar Allan Poe and Sylvia Plath for good measure!!
